Filipino citizens must obtain a Schengen visa if they wish to travel to Schengen Area countries for short visits, for tourist purposes or for business meetings. By obtaining such a visa, they can travel freely, observing the rule of no more than 90 days' stay in the Schengen area within any 180-day period. Given the high number of applications, we invite you to read the practical guidelines for a successful application.
Where do you apply for a visa?
The application for a Schengen visa is made at the diplomatic mission of the country you intend to visit. For example, if you are travelling to Italy, the appointment and submission of documents must be carried out at the Italian Embassy. If during your trip you will visit several Schengen countries, the application must be submitted at the consulate of the first country of entry. So, if you travel to Italy first and then to France, the application must be submitted at the Italian consulate.
Types of visas and their validity periods.
A Schengen visa can be applied for as a single-entry or multiple-entry visa, depending on your request. In general, the visa's duration corresponds to your travel plans (15 days, one month). If you have consecutive trips, you can apply for a long-term multiple-entry visa.
What documents are required?
Each state has its own rules, but the standard documents are:;
- Application Form
- Passport valid for at least three months after the date of return.
- Photo
- Travel itinerary (hotel reservation, tickets)
- Health insurance for the period of travel
- Proof of financial means (Employment contract, bank account statements showing your salary payments)
- Copy of your residence card in Albania, valid for at least three months.
- Other specific documents as required by the respective host states.
When should I apply and how long does the procedure take?
In most cases, the application processing takes 15 working days, except in special cases that require more time. We recommend applying at least four weeks in advance to avoid any further delays (for example, when awaiting the interview date at the relevant consulate).
